Forma

Privacy commitment
Forma is designed to fully respect your privacy. The app asks for no account and collects, analyses, sells or shares no data: not your descriptions, not your parts, not the way you use the app. Rapinology runs no server for Forma.
The on-device assistant
By default, the assistant uses Apple’s model installed on your device, with Apple Intelligence. It reads your descriptions offline: nothing is sent over the internet.
Whichever engine you choose, the parts’ geometry, the printability analysis, the estimates and the technical drawing are computed on your device.
The optional Claude engine
In Settings › Intelligence, you can choose “Claude, with your API key” as the assistant engine. This engine is off by default and only works with your own Anthropic API key.
When it is selected, or when you tap “Try with Claude” for a single request, Forma sends to Anthropic, over an encrypted connection to api.anthropic.com: your request, the conversation, the parameters of the current part and the settings of your print profile. No file, no photo and no geometry is sent. These requests fall under your Anthropic account and its terms; they go through no Rapinology server.
Your key is stored in the device’s keychain. It is written to no file and does not sync with your other devices.
Claude for Mac
On the Mac, and only if you add it, the Claude app for Mac can drive Forma through a local MCP server. This server, shipped inside the app, answers the Claude app on your Mac; it has no internet access and only reads and writes inside Forma’s container.
The Claude app receives what you ask it to create and the result, your active print profile and, only if you tick “Claude can read the open part”, the template and parameters of the open part, without the conversation. What the Claude app does with this information falls under your Claude account.
Camera and photos
On iPhone and iPad, Forma asks for camera access for one feature only: photographing an object next to a bank card to measure its outline. The photo is processed on the device; it is neither saved nor sent.
When you pick a photo from your library, only that photo is passed to Forma, with no access to the rest of the library.
Data kept on your device
Your projects and their conversations, your print profiles and their calibrations are saved in the app, on your device. Forma syncs nothing between your devices: a file only leaves the device if you share it yourself, whether a Forma document, a profile or an exported file.
On the Mac, Forma runs in the system sandbox. It only reaches the files you choose, a USB 3D mouse, whose movements it only reads, and the internet for the remote engine you have chosen, and only then.
Integrations
- Siri and ShortcutsThe Generate Object and Export Last Part actions run on your device, with the engine chosen in Settings.
- SlicerOn the Mac, Forma can open the exported file in your slicer, on that Mac.
- SchamaOn the Mac, the “Add to Schama” option only opens the exported file in Schama, another app by the same developer, if it is installed.

- No trackersThe app includes no third-party analytics tool. We do not track your usage.
- No advertisingThe app contains no ad network and does not use the advertising identifier.

If you have agreed in your system settings to share diagnostic data with app developers, anonymous crash reports may reach us through App Store Connect. They contain no personal information and none of your parts.

In line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you keep full control of your data:
