Recepta

Last updated: August 10, 2026

01

Privacy commitment

The protection of your personal data is an absolute priority. Recepta is designed to fully respect your privacy. No personal data is collected, sold, or shared for commercial or advertising purposes. No Recepta account is required to use the app.

02

Data collection and storage

Your recipes, ingredients, categories, notes, tags, and shopping list items are stored locally on your device using SwiftData.

If your iCloud account is available, this data is also synced to a private CloudKit database associated with your Apple ID. We have no access to this database: it remains strictly confidential and under the exclusive control of your Apple account.

The main app and the share extension use Apple's own App Group data-sharing mechanism to share this same local storage between them, without this data being transmitted to any third party.

03

Tracking data and third-party tools

  • No trackersThe app does not integrate any third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.).
  • No advertisingThe app contains no ad networks and no cross-app advertising tracking.
  • No third-party librariesRecepta relies exclusively on Apple's native frameworks.
04

Recipe import, network requests, and system permissions

When you share or enter a URL from Safari, YouTube, TikTok, or a recipe website, Recepta makes a request to that URL to retrieve the available information (title, image, ingredients, steps). No other address is contacted.

  • Reminders (EventKit)Full access to your Reminders is only requested when you choose to export your shopping list; you then select the destination list yourself.
  • Speech recognitionThis permission is only requested if you start the audio transcription of a video to extract its ingredients and steps when no usable captions are available. Processing relies on Apple's frameworks; temporary audio files are deleted once analysis is complete.
  • TranslationTranslating a recipe uses Apple's Translation framework and may require the system to download a language pack.

You can decline a permission and continue using Recepta manually: entering and editing recipes always remains possible.

05

Diagnostic and crash data

If you have agreed to share diagnostic information with developers through Apple, anonymous crash reports may be sent to us via Apple App Store Connect. This data is purely technical and can never be used to identify you.

06

Your rights and data deletion

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you retain full control over your data:

  • Local deletionYou can delete a recipe or all of your data directly from the app, or by uninstalling it from your device.
  • iCloud deletionYou can manage or delete the data stored in iCloud from your Apple device's system settings (Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage).
  • Exporting your dataRecepta lets you export an independent backup of your recipes, which you can keep or transfer wherever you like.
