Step-by-step guide

Save a recipe from Safari, YouTube, or TikTok.

  • 1. Open the recipeIn Safari, the YouTube app, or the TikTok app, open the page or video you want to save.
  • 2. Open the Share menuTap the share icon (the square with an upward arrow), usually at the bottom or top of the screen depending on the app.
  • 3. Choose ReceptaSelect Recepta from the list of suggested apps. If it doesn't appear yet, follow the guide below to add it to your favorites.
  • 4. Confirm and saveCheck the suggested title and category, then save. The recipe is available immediately; extraction of the ingredients and steps then continues automatically.

Step-by-step guide

Add Recepta to your Share menu favorites.

  • 1. Open the Share menuFrom Safari, YouTube, TikTok, or any other app, tap the share icon on a page or piece of content.
  • 2. Scroll to "More"In the row of suggested apps, scroll all the way to the right and tap "More" (or "Edit Actions" depending on your iOS version).
  • 3. Turn on ReceptaIn the list of apps, tap the switch next to Recepta to add it to your favorites.
  • 4. Reorder the listPress and hold the icon next to Recepta and drag it to the top of the favorites list, then tap "Done". It will now appear at the top of the Share menu.

Data and privacy

Your recipes stay yours.

Recepta requires no account, contains no ads, and includes no analytics or tracking tools. Your recipes are stored locally on your device.

Private iCloud

If your iCloud account is available, your recipes sync to a private CloudKit database linked to your Apple ID.

Permissions on demand

Access to Reminders is only requested when you export your shopping list, and speech recognition only if you start an audio transcription.

No trackers

No advertising SDK or analytics tool is integrated into the app.
