Privacy commitment

HomeyIconGenerator is designed to fully respect your privacy. The app requires no account and does not collect, analyse, sell or share any data: not your projects, not your photos, not your icons, not the way you use the app. Rapinology runs no server for HomeyIconGenerator.

Your projects and photos

The app reads the folder of the Homey app you open yourself, and only writes inside that folder, after showing you the list of files it will create or replace: each driver’s icon and images, its model and its source photos, kept in a sources/ folder that the .homeyignore file excludes from the published package. It runs no command, neither homey nor git.

The photos you add are cut out on your Mac, with Apple’s Vision framework. They are sent nowhere.

Without a project, an icon, images or a model are only saved where you choose.

The only network access: the update check

To find out whether a newer version exists, the app reads the file https://www.rapinology.com/homeyicongenerator/version.json. It is a plain read, with no identifier, no parameter and no cookie: nothing can identify you, and nothing else is sent.

It happens when you choose “Check for Updates…” in the app menu, and at launch at most once a day. The check at launch can be turned off in the app’s Settings. If a newer version exists, the app tells you and opens this page if you ask; it never downloads or installs anything by itself.

As for any page you visit, the site’s host may keep the IP address and time of the request in its technical logs. Rapinology does not use them.

Data kept on your Mac

These settings are stored in the app’s preferences, on your Mac. They do not sync with any other device.

Tracking data and third-party tools

• No trackerThe app includes no third-party analytics tool. We do not track your usage.
• No advertisingThe app contains no advertising network and does not use the advertising identifier.

Diagnostic and crash data

HomeyIconGenerator is distributed directly from this site, outside the App Store: no crash report reaches us automatically. We only receive what you choose to send us by email.

Your rights and data deletion

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you keep full control of your data:

• Update checkTurn it off in the app’s Settings; the on-demand check stays available in the menu.
• Complete removalMove the app to the Trash, then delete the file ~/Library/Preferences/com.rapinology.HomeyIconGenerator.plist. Files written to your Homey projects remain yours.
