How do I install HomeyIconGenerator?
Open the downloaded HomeyIconGenerator-0.1.0.dmg file, drag the app onto the Applications folder, then eject the disk. The app then opens from Launchpad or the Applications folder.

macOS shows a message the first time I open it.
It is the usual reminder for an app downloaded from the Internet: click Open. The app is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. If macOS refuses to open it, check that your Mac has Apple silicon and macOS 27 or later.
How do I know whether a new version exists?
Choose HomeyIconGenerator › Check for Updates… At launch, the app also checks at most once a day, unless you turned it off in Settings. To update, download the new DMG from this page and replace the app in Applications.
Do I need to open a Homey project?
No. The app opens on an icon without a project, which you edit and check the same way. Export it with File › Export Icon… (⌘E), the images with ⇧⌘E, and save the model to pick it up again later.
Where does the app write in my project?
In each driver’s folder: assets/icon.svg and assets/images/ (small, large, xlarge). The model and the source photos go to sources/icones/, which .homeyignore excludes from the published package. The list of files created or replaced shows before every write, and nothing is written until you confirm.
Why do my icons have no arcs?
Homey’s renderer flattens elliptical arcs into straight segments, and a zero-length segment makes the whole icon disappear. So the app only writes straight lines and cubic Bézier curves, in a single black path.
The report says my icon looks too much like the app’s.
The Homey App Store rejects a driver icon identical or nearly identical to the app icon, or to another driver’s. The report compares the shapes by eye, not just the files: change the device or its details until the warning goes away.
Cutting out a photo is slow the first time.
On the first cut-out, macOS loads the Vision model: allow about fifteen seconds. The next ones are quick. For a white device on a white background, a geometric mask takes over when the shape is simple.
Can my driver images be drawings?
No: the Homey App Store requires a real photograph of the device, on a white background. That is why the app asks you to confirm it before writing images.
How do I uninstall the app?
Move HomeyIconGenerator to the Trash. To erase its settings too, delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.rapinology.HomeyIconGenerator.plist.
